Shaking Like a Leaf…

hold-me-jesus-cause-i'm-shaking-like-a-leaf

You may have noticed my absence around here.

We are wading through some very difficult days, and I’ve tried to think of how to write it out and how much to tell, and I just don’t have words yet.

My apologies for being so vague, but we appreciate your grace.

We are choosing to believe that God will use this for our good and for His glory, even though we can’t begin to make sense of it at all. Romans 8 reminds us that He can do just this, and that He is FOR US. Lord, help us walk by faith when we cannot see.

My sweet friend Emily sent me this song last night, and I burst into tears with how fitting the lyrics are right now.

“Hold Me Jesus” – Rich Mullins

Well, sometimes my life
Just don’t make sense at all
When the mountains look so big
And my faith just seems so small

So hold me Jesus, ’cause I’m shaking like a leaf
You have been King of my glory
Won’t You be my Prince of Peace

And I wake up in the night and feel the dark
It’s so hot inside my soul
I swear there must be blisters on my heart

So hold me Jesus, ’cause I’m shaking like a leaf
You have been King of my glory
Won’t You be my Prince of Peace

Surrender don’t come natural to me
I’d rather fight You for something
I don’t really want
Than to take what You give that I need
And I’ve beat my head against so many walls
Now I’m falling down, I’m falling on my knees

So hold me Jesus, ’cause I’m shaking like a leaf
You have been King of my glory
Won’t You be my Prince of Peace…

Thank you for your prayers, and your constant encouragement in our lives, especially during this time when the blisters on our heart are so raw.
