The Ultimate Summer Sandwich Party
What a fun night! Brad and I hosted an “Ultimate Summer Sandwich Party” with some families from church that we’ve wanted to get to know better.
(Tangent #1: Do you ever find yourself hurrying into church, picking up your kids after the sermon, and then scurrying to feed your family lunch? Us too! Just a season of life, I’m sure! However, we are hoping remedy this hustle and bustle by inviting more people into our home, now that life has “settled down”. *Insert Laughter*)
We plugged in the Panini makers and loaded up the toppings to make our own creations. So. Much. Fun!
(Tangent #2: Having guests cook together is a great conversation starter and ice breaker.)
Everyone really got into it and came up with such great sandwiches ideas.

Funny…I was going to leave a comment even before I saw you were having a giveaway!
I just discovered this method of sandwich making last week–I was making grilled cheeses with provolone, ham, turkey and salami for dinner, and I didn’t feel like standing over my griddle cooking 6 sandwiches. The bright idea hit me–I should use my George Forman grill! I did, and it was wonderfully quick and even wonderfully easier!! The grill (which, I am sure, works similarly to a panini maker) cooked the sandwiches on both sides in about 3 minutes, and smushed them just enough to get into little mouths. Definitely a method I will be using again in the future, so this would be a great one to win 🙂
Thanks for the giveaway Jen!

Sliced chicken breast, provolone, pesto and romaine lettuce! Paninis are yummy!
My fav sandwich would be sourdough bread with turkey and provolone cheese topped with bacon, spinach, cucumbers, tomato, green peppers, and shredded lettuce. Mmm Mmm Good!!
Italian bread, sliced tomato, avocado, spreadable goat cheese, provolone and lettuce. Bacon too, if I’m feeling a little piggy. 🙂
Let’s see…I’m thinking some fresh spinach, mozzarella cheese, roasted red peppers, sliced black olives, a little oregano, garlic powder and parsley. Of course some crusty bread brushed with EVOO. MMM….
Tangent: My sis-in-law did this a couple years ago. She decided she wanted to have more people over too, basically for the same reason you are: to get to know people a little better and also to save a little extra money on that after church meal. Anyway, she took a notebook and had a little “guest book” she could keep. She would write down the date and who came over and if anything memorable happened. I thought it was a pretty good idea and thought I would pass it on to you. 🙂
yummy! What a fun and easy college staple!
My perfect sandwich would be: Roast Turkey (from the amazing indoor fresh market, no nitrates!) Colby Jack cheese, Lettuce and Tomato from the farmer’s market. No dressings or sauce, I am a purest!
Jen – what a fun idea. I would have to somehow incorporate goat cheese … it’s my favorite…. along with turkey, tomatoes, spinach, and onions and possibly some pesto. I’m getting hungry already 🙂 PS. Your boys are darling.
How fun! Love parties with friends…
Italian bread with mayo, bacon, provolone and avacado slices! Never had this combo on a panini, but I’m sure it would be great!
Cibatta bread . . extra sharp cheddar and jalapeno cheese, chicken, turkey, tomato .
What a fun idea! We are in the same boat when it comes to eating lunch after church and this would be a great way to save money and meet more people and still get in that afternoon nap 🙂
My perfect sandwich would be blue cheese, bacon and tomatoes a BBT 🙂 BTW, I use my George Foreman grill as a panini maker but it doesn’t have the same weight so I would love to try one of these!
I think a multigrain bread would be best with blue cheese crumbles, spinach, tomato, cucumber, carrots, and celery. Season with McCormick’s Roasted Garlic and Herb Grill Mates.
Honestly, jersey tomatoes with american cheese. Simple and DELICIOUS!!!!!!
Whole wheat bread, pesto, peppered turkey, swiss, tomato, avocado.
Looks like you had a great time making some delicious sandwiches – what a great idea. My perfect panini would would definitely have avocado and grilled chicken with some mozzarella cheese. Makes me hungry just thinking about it!
It’s only 8 am and this blog post is making me hungry for lunch already. Mine would have sun dried tomato basil bread with turkey, swiss, spinach, tomato and spicy brown mustard!! Oh and lets not forget a pickle on the side and 2 extra for my twin sons who wouldn’t let me ever dare eat a pickle without them!!
What a fun get together! I’d use Italian bread, sliced chicken, bacon cheddar cheese and top it with lettuce and mayo!
Ooo, chicken, pepperjack and chedder cheese, tomato and spinach sounds yummy.
Ciabatta bread with grilled chicken, bacon, colby cheese, ranch, lettuce, and fresh garden tomatoes. Great party idea!
I would use rye bread (my favorite, but I’m the only one in the house who likes it), provolone cheese, ham, turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomator, and a little honey mustard dressing. Yummy, now time to go find something to eat cause I just made myself hungry!!
Oh my those all sound delicious and are making my tummy rumble. I love turkey with cranberry chutney… I never make it at home, but I would if I had a panini maker:)

I would use sliced chicken breast, on sour dough, with lettuce, cucumber, onion and chipotle mayo!!! Yum!!!
I would fix a veggie and cheese panini with mushrooms, spinach, onions, and fresh tomoato.
Sourdough bread, provolone, spinach and ham for starters….but there are so many possibilities I can’t begin to put them together!
Yummmy!!!! Reading this while eating lunch and making me even more hungry I must say! Since it’s summer and BLTs are big at our house, I would use wheat bread, turkey bacon, garden fresh tomatos and lettuce, and add some bacon cheddar cheese for a little something different. Fingers crossed! 🙂
My sandwich would be made with Focaccia bread, Turkey, Pesto Mayo, x-tra Mushrooms, Provolone cheese, Black Olives, Tomato and Lettuce.
Pesto.
Pesto makes everything better. 🙂
Grilled chicken on Italian bread brushed with olive oil. Top with provolone, sauteed onions, garlic, red & green bell peppers and mushrooms. YUM!
My favorite summertime sandwich is long french bread (I cut it into individual ones)with a little bit of brown mustard and mayo..then you add 6 slices of swiss cheese-6 slices of cheddar cheese-8 to 10 slices of salami 8 to 10 slices of shaved ham-8-10 of the smoked turkey shaved-add 6 slices of smoked cheddar cheese-a little bit of lettuce..put a thin coating of olive oil across the top of the bread-wrap in aluminum foil and stick in oven at 325 degrees for about 10 min..just enough to warm it up or you can eat it cold-pickles-yellow bell pepper or green to add to it..tomatoes and sometimes even kraut is added. Its all up to the person..=)
tomato, basil, mozarella and a little garlic salt
Mmm… fresh mozzarella, red onion, tomato, fresh basil, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. Yum yum!
I think I’d go for some barbecue sauce, chicken, bacon, mozzarella cheese, and green onions. A barbecue pizza kind of panini. Yumm.
ps — what a great blog! I’m so glad I stumbled into your world!
I like a good club sandwich – turkey, cheese, bacon and avocado do it for me. Yummy!
I would like to try salami, pepperoni, provolone, chopped green olives and a little Italian dressing.
I love making sandwich creations! My favorite is: Chicken, mozzerella, roasted red peper and basil.
I’m pretty simple, meat and cheese!!! I may throw in a few extra if someone else brings them, otherwise I’m pretty simple!
