Educational and Fun iPad Apps for Kids {Giveaway}
If only I could have the money back I’ve wasted on “educational” apps for kids. Honestly, I’d pretty much thrown my hands in the air and given up on finding anything that combined learning and entertainment well. A really engaging age-appropriate game seemed to have little to no educational value. Meanwhile, other apps that promised to provide a “fun” learning experience, seemed to bore us all to tears. Or time and time again, they weren’t properly programmed for the age group – a math game for a preschool/kindergarten level required 3rd grade reading skills, a phonics game wasn’t challenging at all, etc.
Needless to say, I was a tad skeptical when my friend Lindsey contacted me about reviewing some of their games that Evanced Games was getting ready to launch over the summer. However, I trusted Lindsey as a former solid teacher I used to collaborate with pre-quads.
She introduced us to some of the games developed by Evanced Games that are developed not only by some amazing artists, programmers, and designers but EDUCATORS as well. I hugged her. Really, I did.
And the boys? Well they had an absolute blast and couldn’t wait to download them at home. See for yourselves!

We LOVE Stack the States. My husband and I actually play it more than our 5 year old, but she’ll grow into it. 😉
We also love Stack the States! My twin boys (age 6) can both put all 50 states on a blank map without help – and they are starting to learn the capitals and some national monuments, too! It’s their new obsession!
Because my guy is such a little guy right now we like the Match it Up 1. But I keep looking for ones for when he is bigger.
I have yet to find one I love.
There are so many favorites! Bugs and Buttons is a favorite for my kids and I just downloaded My Piggy Bank for my students to work on money skills.
Stack the states and stack the countries….my son even bites his chips to resemble states!
