RIP Quadmobile

Our ’98 Chevy Venture was laid to rest in Elizabethtown, KY over the weekend. The engine is T-O-A-S-T!

We were on our first real road trip to Nashville, TN to celebrate my parent’s 50th anniversary when she decided to kick the bucket near E-town. I have LOTS of blog material and footage in the works to document our adventures and the awesome time we had with family, but I’m currently buried in laundry and searching for some new wheels.

If anyone has any contacts looking to sell a reliable van/SUV for an affordable price, please contact me via comment or email quatro_mama{at}yahoo{dot}com. We would also appreciate your prayers as we look to purchase a vehicle for our family in the next few days.

Ugh. I HATE car shopping! I am so sorry that you all are having to deal with this issue, but the Lord is good–I know He will provide you with just the right wheels! We’ll keep you in our prayers as you do your searching!

p.s. We bought our SUV up in Orland Park, IL (near Chicago). It would be about a 2 1/2 hour drive for you all, but if you found the right price, it might be worth it…it was for us! You can search 159th St., Orland Park (it is a famous street with TONS of car dealerships–competition is heavy up there and the prices were much better than we could get around this part of the state! Good luck!)

Hi Jen! I live in your division in Pittsboro. I came across your blog when I curiously googled “raising quads.” Sorry about your van. Just wanted to give you some praise today! I have twin girls, ages 3, and a 10 month old girl. I am so busy and tired much of the time. When I’m feeling helpless, I think of you and it inspires me. I can see from your blog what a great job you are doing! I see you walking around the division sometimes with the boys and all I can think is, “I wonder how long it took her to get them in that stroller?!” I, too, put much faith in Christ and rely on Him daily for my strength and wisdom. God bless you and your family! Next time I see you, I’ll say hi! I’m not hard to miss pushing a stroller and dragging a wagon! Take Care and Happy Mothers Day! Joy

hey jen. Sorry for your loss:( that stinks! i know that the dealership we bought our van from was great! they gave us a great deal! You can check out their cars online (expresswaydodge.com) we worked with Bob Grant and he did everything he could to get us the van we needed. Just thought i’d put my 2 cents in:) LOVE YOU girl!

I feel your pain. We have a 97 Pontiac minivan that blew its engine in February. We had no choice but to fix it since we can’t afford another payment with me not working right now. Well, the dealership has had it for TWO MONTHS (after it took them a month to come get it out of my driveway where the tow truck dropped it)and just 2 weeks ago finally got the motor in. I figure I should have it back at this rate by the time the summer is over. So I have been cooped up without a vehicle.

    I’ll pray for you!

I’m SO sorry! I can’t imagine what that must have been like! I wish you much luck in finding a new vehicle. I wish I had any news of one but I don’t. The best I can do is say that we have a Mercury Monterey minivan that we got at CarMax before the kids were born and so far it has been reliable. For the price, it’s a pretty good vehicle for quads!

So sorry to hear about your vehicle problems! I’ll keep my ears open for you. I’d LOVE LOVE LOVE to give away our camoflauge Suburban that we have, but Bryan would probably fight somebody for it. He thinks it’s “pristine” and “mint” – I think it’s hideous & loud.
