Enduring Indoors…

On Fridays I like try to get a little more creative with our morning.  Shake things up a little bit.  Celebrate surviving another week! So I have a kitchen cabinet reserved for such activities. Yep, I keep the beans in there too! And since the weather hasn’t decided to warm up until nap time, we’ve had to limit our creativity to indoor activities.

Last week we tried out the Aquadoodle for the first time. If you’re not familiar with Aquadoodle, it’s a no mess, water-based, art activity. They really enjoyed turning the white mat entirely blue with their water pens. I’m thinking another mat might be a future purchase to give us a little more elbow room.

Today we built with our Megablocks that Gramma and Grampa got us for Christmas…

My twins LOVE their aquadoodle! Here’s a good tip for you though, store the pens in a coffee mug or something OPEN! I threw mine in a ziploc bag, (trying to keep them all together and organized, of course) and the next time I went to use them, they were moldy! I bought more and have been keeping them in a mug so they can air dry between uses, and haven’t had any problems! I made sure to leave the mat open and unfolded until it was completely dry, but for some reason I didn’t think about the moisture on the pens!

  2. WoW…looks like you all are doing GREAT with inside ideas 🙂 Can’t believe their party is almost here!

Awww, they are so cute! The boys always get to hang out and play with their best buddies all the time…how great is that?! Aquadoodle looks like a lot of fun, I wish it was around when my children were little. Have fun tomorrow. Can’t wait to see pictures of the 2nd Birthday Due Date Party.

How much does an Aquadoodle mat run??

  5. We’ve tried Color Wonder (which they enjoy) but I haven’t gotten any Aquadoodle stuff yet. Maybe something for a rainy day this summer…

We love our aquadoodle, too! Drinking the pens and all.

But, I didn’t know they had extra accessories. We just have one pen. If you get a chance, please do tell where you got the others.

Ha! Mylo totally drinks the pen too!

My 7 year old STILL loves her aquadoodle. She even fingerpaints with it if she can’t find the pen:)

  9. What a great way to entertain 4 at once! Love the pictures by the way. You really do a great job taking natural photos and the colors are great!

  10. Wow! Quads! Awesome! As you can see I am dumbstruck. I just found your blog on Twitter Moms and I clicked on it b/c your photo was soooo good and then I was surprised you’re a mom to 4 little dudes. I have 3 of my own (although not the same age). Glad to find your site!
