I do a lot of my shopping the day after Christmas … for the next Christmas! Everything is dirt cheap and since I have room to store it, it’s totally worth getting up early and hitting the door buster sales to pick up a few ‘early’ Christmas gifts. I also have a ton of birthdays right after the first of the year so it’s a good time to pick up birthday gifts too.
I subscribe to RSS using Google Reader
I have just recently started using coupons and can’t believe how much money we have saved. I have used some on birthday and Christmas gift and have saved a ton!

We save money by doing free things for recreation during the month of December. We bike to the neighborhood in town that has all the decorated houses and walk around with our boys looking at all the lights, instead of paying for the train ride w/ all the lights at the zoo. And we read Christmas books and watch Christmas movies all month long that I pick up at garage sales and thrift stores and after-xmas sales!
I shop throughout the year using coupons and deals.
I save money by shopping online for the items that are cheaper than in the stores, and only shopping at websites that have free shipping. It’s almost never worth it to pay shipping to Hawaii!
i save money by following sites such as “hip2save(dot)com” and “myfrugaladventures(dot)com and getting great deals on things. also, some yrs my hubby and i don’t exchange gifts (he’s been unemployed the last 3 christmas’). for my side of the family every other yr we do gifts and the off yrs we donate $ to a cause.
We drew names with my husband’s family and only buy gifts for that one person. Definitely lessens the amount of spending total.

I save money during Christmas on gifts by really watching for sales, making a lot of my presents, and giving gifts of time or service. We also celebrate our family Christmas a week after Christmas every other year which helps a lot by waiting and buying from the post-Christmas sales.

I avoid the stores. I know it sounds lame, but I try really hard to come up with fun things for us to do at home (back cookies, visit family and friends, throw parties) to keep us away from temptation! So many times our Christmas budget is blown simply by one day of boredom shopping.
Coupons! plus, I use retailmenot.com before I buy anything online.

I not only like shop at home on facebook, I really love shop at home and save so much money, its amazing.
Both my husband’s family and my family have started the tradition of allowing gifts to be things that were purchased used…at garage sales, thrift stores etc. It is so much fun because it allows us to give bigger, nicer gifts without going broke. To me, this is SO much more the spirit of Christmas than going into debt just to buy Christmas gifts.
One way I save money this year is stocking up on baking items and canned goods that are on such great sales right now! And using coupons and codes for gift purchases!
I always but things on sale or clearance. My family is on a very tight budget so this is how I do most shopping.

I save money by buying Christmas presents for this year after Christmas last year. This allows me to buy wonderful gifts at greatly reduced prices.
A saver I haven’t seen listed yet–if I do Christmas cards, I get postcards printed up through Vistaprint, which are very cheap–a family pic on one side, a brief summary of the year for the message. And postage for a postcard is MUCH cheaper than for a letter!

One way I save is to always shop around. If you absolutely can’t walk out of the store without buying something you think is a great deal, be sure to save your receipt and don’t open the package until you have priced it at a few other places. One store’s sale may be higher than another store’s everyday low price.
it is hard to save money at Christmastime but I try to shop at the black friday sales and try not to go overboard.
