“Spectacular” Kid Friendly 4th of July Ideas
I’ve fell into a new rabbit hole this week. Pinterest. Heard of it? It’s so crazy awesome. The inspiration is endless. It’s like an electronic corkboard of ideas to share.
Anyways, I was coming across some great kid friendly 4th of July ideas and before you know it I had a nice little collection. I had to share, because they are just so adorable and doable. And besides, I probably won’t get around to making most of them, post-surgery and all, so you can try them out for me! =)
- These Cream Cheese Filled Strawberries from Tip Junkie are so simple but so perfect for the holiday. My boys LOVE fruit!
- I would have never come up with the idea to create Sifted Flour Lawn Stars. You can make them on the sidewalk too. Must do! Thanks, Pink and Green Mama!
- What about these cute “Let Freedom Ring” Ring Pop Tags for the kids at the cookout? So creative, Lisa Storms!
- These Gift Bag Uncle Sam Hats from the Disney Family Fun site look simple to make and fun to wear!
- More patriotic fruit fun – American Flag Fruit Kabobs. Awesome idea, Chandler + Brianne!
- Finally, someone MUST give this Flag Layer Cake a try. Report back to me and let me know how challenging it truly is, okay? Hat tip to I Am Baker.

What are YOUR favorite Kid-Friendly 4th of July Traditions?
I am an absolute 4th of July JUNKIE, so this is great! Thanks so much!
These are awesome ideas! We are in drought conditions where I live and aren’t shooting off fireworks and I have been wondering how to celebrate with my kids. These ideas will definitely help. Thanks for sharing.
oh my gosh! I want to make those fruit kabobs NOW! and that cake looks soooo yummy!
My kids are excited for the parade and fireworks! Happy 4th! Hope you can enjoy it!
These are great ideas. I love the kabobs! That is so simple and looks great.
I am going to visit some great kids tomorrow and was just thinking – I wonder what fun things we could do for the 4th? Fantastic timing. 😉
I’m taking a flag cake (yellow cake with whipped cream topping, raspberries and blueberries or you could do cream cheese frosting and red and blue M&M’s.) We’ll light a sparkler, stick it in the cake as a candle and sing Happy Birthday to America. Then you can use the rest of the sparklers to write your name in the sky. Simple but a lot of fun.
Thanks for the ideas. So glad to hear you are on the mend!
I hope you have a wonderful 4th of July!
God bless America. 🙂
I made the fruit kabobs and it was easy and fun! Thanks for the great idea. I have tried Pintrest and am still figuring it out. Hope you feel better soon!
Made the flag cake for the Cub SCout Pack 4th of July Picnic and it was really good. I am not the best baker and it was super easy. Mine did have some toppling issues but that was my own fault. I can’t cut a cake in half and have it flat and I had to take the blue layer off because I forgot a red layer. It really is simple, delicious, and gorgeous!
