Winter Skin Rescue {Neutrogena Giveaway}
Have you ever volunteered to do the holiday family dishes? You pull up your sleeves, start scraping off Uncle Jerry’s leftovers, put your hands in the hot soapy water, and then immediately need to run outside to stick your hands in a snow bank. {Harry on Home Alone after he gets burnt on the door knob style.}
Dry, chapped skin is a constant battle in our house this time of year. So I was much relieved when I finally found a hand cream that actually helps heal dry skin, rather than just mask it for a few minutes.
It’s Neutrogena® Hand Cream and sells for under $5. Worth every pretty penny.
What do I like about it?
- It’s fragrance free – because my boys struggle with patches of dry skin also and a girly scent would not fly.
- It last longer than any other hand cream I’ve tried in the past.
- It makes skin smooth and soft but not oily or greasy.
- It works on dry skin anywhere – not just your hands.
And for the final giveaway of 2011, I have a collection of “Winter Skin Rescue Goodies” from Neutrogena which includes a bottle of the Hand Cream, Rainbath Shower and Bath Gel, Body Oil, Lip Moisturizer, and Moisture Wrap Body Lotion. Everything you need for the upcoming long months of winter!

I actually use Neutrogena lotions all yr round to keep my skin from getting dry. Love it.
Moisturize Moisturize Moisturize – Morning, Noon and Night!!
I also keep a chapstick in every pocket and practically in every room!
UGH! Dry, chapped skin in the winter is the worst! I am constantly applying lotion and lip moisturizer to try to battle the flaky, cracked painfulness!! I have never tried the Neutrogena kind, but I’d love to see how it works!!! Thanks for the giveaway Jen! 🙂
I’m constantly using moisturizing cream and I drink plenty of water.
I put lotion on every time i wash my hands, which is about 100 times a day!! (I’m a preschool teacher)
I try to use moisturizer frequently.
Love it! Reminds me of my grandmother, she uses Neutrogena all the time. The smell makes me think of her. 🙂
Moisturizers, lotions and night cream, but as you know the Indiana winters are brutal and it’s still not enough
I use hand cream when I can but I never can find one that lasts. Glad to try this one. Headed out for some errands now so maybe I’ll pick it up!
Very important to keep your skin hydrated. I have very dry skin in the winter. Have tried all kinds of products, but never neutrogena. Would love a sample.
Hope the boys have a wonderful Christmas.
I use lotion every night before bed and keep my hands under the comforter so they stay warm and moisturized.
lotion after shower and whenever needed during the day
Merry Christmas
OOOH! I need this package! My hands get dry and crack badly every winter. Mainly I use lotion on my hands. I put it on the backs of my hands and then rub just the backs together. HA! I hate having it on the palms of my hands and then touching things. This definately looks like a good lotion for me to try! I may have to pick some up when I am shopping today. Have a nice Christmas:)
Living in Western Oregon, one of the wettest places in the U.S., my skin never gets too dry. But when we were stationed in Idaho desert, I slathered my hands and face in Vaseline before going out for a run!
I use lots of moisturizer and I exfoliate often. Love Neutrogena for my finicky skin!
Living in the Northern NV desert, dry skin is a year long battle made worse in the chilly wintertime. I use hand cream every night before going to bed but even that doesn’t always do the trick. It would be fun to try a new product!
I use tons of lotion and chapstick!
Love this lotion. It works so well – and I’m allergic to many scents. Use it all the time!
I have an in-shower moisturizer that I love!
It’s a battle – I try and remember to use lotion each night after my shower but then with two little ones I often get side tracked and forget and then end up with itchy dry skin – shucks. Thanks for the chance to win this awesome giveaway!
I done even battle it and suffer with fingers that are split open, horrible feet and itchy legs. I need to put lotion throughout my house and get into better habits.
We run humidifiers, take oatmeal baths, and slather on lotion!
I use Eucerin or The Body Shop shea butter body butter to keep my skin healthy all year long.
I love Neutrogena hand cream… and would love to try the bath gel!
I survive the winter by using lotion every time I think about it!
I always am using lotion after washing my hands and when I get out of the shower. Working as a nurse, I wash my hands all the time, have to use lots of lotion to keep them hydrated!
I moisturize constantly. Especially before bed and after showers.
Lotion, lotion and more lotion. I use Vaseline on my hands before bed also. Having my hubby do the dishes help too. 🙂
Winter dry skin is something I really battle. I try to keep lotion handy and use it as often as possible.
I’ve found that drinking a ton of water helps, as does making sure the humidity level in our house is appropriate. And lots of lotion, of course!! Great giveaway!
I have struggled with sensitive skin my entire life and love anything fragrance free. Aveeno is my current product but I also like neutropenia. One thing I always remember to do is moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. That is the key for me.
Thanks,
Leslie
I strong to keep my skin in good condition in the winter. Even with less showers and lots of lotion, I’m always so dry!
It is too funny that you wrote about this lotion!!! I struggle with dry hands, especially after my daughter spent 4 1/2 weeks in the NICU last winter….my hands did not survive the winter weather AND the constant hand washing in the NICU. A year later, my hands are still a mess!!!!! I feel like I have tried every product on the market. Recently, I tried the very Neutrogena lotion you are highlighting and IT IS A DREAM COME TRUE. It works so well!!! I do have trouble finding it in stores where I live, so I will cross my fingers (my mosturized fingers) that I win!!!!!
Drink plenty of water. Good for so many things
I use this hand cream also! I buy the 3-packs at Sam’s Club and keep one at home, one in my purse, and one in my pocket at work all winter.
I use an exfoliator (?sp) in the shower everyday and hand cream several times a day! Merry Christmas!!
Drink tons of water
keeps hands and feet especially moisturized
thanks
I use lotion, but my hands continue to be dry and crack.

In the past I have always used aquafor on those awful dry patches on the hands and cheeks. A few months ago i started using Goat Milk Soap from The Goat Milk stuff people 🙂 We rarely use lotion anymore and does wonders to keep the skin from getting so dry! we cant avoid the chapped cheeks from the wind though and aquafor still comes in handy 🙂
I try to use a cream skin wash. I also use body lotion right afteR a shower to seal in moisture. Dry winter weather is tough to prevent dry skin. I need all the help I can get.
use a drop of vitamin d along with your favorite hand cream
My latest find is Nuetragena (I think that’s the brand) body sesame oil. LOVE it after a shower!
Lotion up all the time, but especially after showering!
I drink extra water to stay hydrated from the inside. I try and slather on lotion as many times a day as I can.
My skin gets extremely dry – and my heels, hands, and lips crack – thanks to genes from both of my parents. I find that doing “lotion baths” at night with socks and/or gloves is best for keeping dry skin at bay.
My dry nurse hands could sure use this!
I still haven’t figured out how to keep my skin healthy.
