Introducing 31 Days of Simple Outdoor Adventures for Boys

Intro Post 31 Days of Outdoor Adventures for Boys

Get Ready for 31 Days of…

Adventure. Simplicity. Boyhood. Outdoors.

I’m taking the plunge.  I’ll be writing for the next 31 days of October on one topic.  Nester hosts 100’s of bloggers doing the same challenge of writing on one topic, every day, for one month.

Simple Outdoor Adventures for Boys – It’s a topic I’ve been passionately pursuing, and I’m anxious to share.

Why?

~ I have a passion for enjoying God’s creation with my boys and instilling in them a wonder for His majesty and beauty.

~ I am fascinated by the uniqueness of boys – their love for adventure, their need for risk, their innate ability to turn soap dirty, how they learn from being in their element outdoors.

~ I want to encourage a healthy  and active lifestyle for our family.

~ I love sharing simple ideas that can help us embrace motherhood with boys all the more.

~ I want to raise brave men, not scared boys. “Scared moms raise scared kids. Brave moms raise brave kids.” – Jen Hatmaker  I don’t want to be the catalyst that holds my son back from something hard, challenging, something that causes growth.

~ I love a good challenge.

So every day this month I’ll be sharing a simple outdoor adventure idea that you can recreate with your boy(s)…or yes, I’m SURE you could do any of these with girls too.  I’m a mama to four boys.  I know boys.  Well at least I know MY BOYS.  Nevertheless, my heart behind this is allowing boys to be boys.

I’ll probably pop in here once in a while to give you an update on what’s going on in our lives during the month of October, but you can also follow along on the 4tunate Facebook Page, where I’ll be posting more of our everyday life.  You know, like my dismay at my son eating a dropped piece of candy off the tile of dirty restaurant floor and pictures of my boys dressed as superhero gold miners with basketball jerseys. You know the ones.

***I would LOVE to share in YOUR adventures as well!  If you instagram or tweet, tag your pictures/ideas with #outdoorboys or feel free to share them on our Facebook Page.  Let’s encourage one another!
