If You Look Up Miserable in the Dictionary….
You might find an illustration similar to this picture of Brooks:
The boys (minus Isaac) have been suffering from a respiratory illness going on a week now. We’d like to kick it out of our house and home, but it keeps on lingering. Good news is their O2 saturations are well in the acceptable range (meaning no hospital visits), just lots of TEARS!
Our doctor’s visit went well despite the shots, measurements, tears, and waiting (Doctor’s offices are SWAMPED right now!) Here’s the updated weights and since we have several math nerd readers (Jaimie),some extra stats to go with…
Henry 18lbs. 14oz. (6.9 x his original birth-weight)
Brooks 19lbs. 0oz. (6.3 x his original birth-weight)
Clark 20lbs. 6oz. (5.9 x his original birth-weight)
Isaac 22lbs. 1oz. (5.5 x his original birth-weight)
Quad-Pounder of Beef Total: 80lbs. 5oz (By next year they should out weigh me!)
You can compare their weights from their 9mo appointment here. Their growth rates have leveled out a bit since they are on the move, but they are doing GREAT! We always walk away encouraged (and wiped out) after our check-ups!
And some more pictures to document our 1 year appointment:
did you just call me a nerd!?! 🙂 but again i did enjoy all the stats posted 🙂 and the pics…what a great idea! i wish i was that thoughtful. You’re my inspiration.

You’re babies are so cute! How do you do it with four??
Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog! I always like meeting new people and making new friends! Glad to hear the boys are getting better!
aww breaks my heart to see those babies crying at their doc appts! But, im glad they passed with flying colors! And,they look very healthy and chunky too. Brook is still by far the most handsome one of the bunch in my opinion!
Isaac gets me cracking up!
AWWWW.Those pictures are so pathetic AND absolutely adorable! We also have the yuckiness going around..what fun huh? Bring on the spring…LORD PLEASE?!?? Praying for wellness…
Ah, you are almost (or maybe there?) to another milestone–out of the baby carriers and into the “big boy” car seats! That’s a fun stage because they are growing up so fast yet hard because it’s a little harder to control them running off. Your back will thank you and you will feel like a new people when you don’t have to lug around the weight of the baby carseats AND the kids at the same time. At least, that’s how I felt. Plus, the chiropractor bills were getting expensive! lol You guys are doing a great job. They boys look so cute and very happy! Imagine a few years from now, all of you sitting around the dinner table, talking, sharing about your day, teaching them about God. Those have been some of the best times so far for us.
Take care!
Rachel
oh my gosh. how frickin’ CUTE are those baby boys?!! LOVE the crying pics…too sweet for words. give those hunk-a-hunk-a-burnin-loves a kiss from their friends in tey-hass. (that means you MUST kiss them at least SIX times)…love you guys! and tell that “cold” that it is absolutely NOT welcome in your house! (or mine, for that matter)
These are 4 little blessings. Thanks for sharing.
They are so cute. I love Isaac’s expressions…you can tell his brothers are obviously not happy or are a little scared….he is smiling on the scale….and doesn’t seem to care about the stethoscope. How funny is that? I love the scale picture…little chunky. I love “chunky” babies.
a – brooks’ head is quite big enough, thank you! Quit givin’ my other 3 a complex. They are ALL my cutie pies. =)
Aw! They are so handsome!
What is the length of the boys? They sure have grown a bunch!
WAHHOOOOO to no more formula!!!! I remember that day like it was yesterday!!! Milk is not cheap but it sure is better than shakin all that formula!!! HURRRAYYY!!! 🙂
Those boys look so good. I just want to kiss and hug ‘um! Looks like it’s almost time for big kid car seats! Riding in the car is so much better when all four can see you. Congrats on a great 1 year check up.
Love to our favorite four boys… and mommy and daddy too!
XOXO

Oh, my gosh! I can’t get over how much Isaac looks like Brad in the picture with the stethoscope! All the pics are precious, but my fave is the one of Brook’s b/c those are moments we don’t often capture. His future wife will LOVE that one someday.
They have grown so much, Jen. You are a fantastic Mommy and you bless my flip-flops off each time I read your blog.
ps: oh and jen… I LOVED your page in the MOST mag!!!! So sweet! We just got the winter addition..a little behind on my reading.

Oh gosh! Hopefully they outgrow that “look” when visiting the Dr. My 2.5 year old starts that “look” as soon as we hit the parking garage. But Isaac is SO stinkin’ cute checking himself out there on the scale. I hope the boys feel better soon. So many milestones being thrown at once, eh?
Congrats on a good check up! What are their heights? Amazing to see them grow from so tiny to so big! My lil’ 4 lb-er quantum leaped to 28 lbs in a year! I hope they all feel better soon.
I LOVE this picture of Brooks!!! My husband and I got a good laugh out of that one! We have a 14 month old and know what that is like. Your boys are so cute and I really enjoy watching them grow!
Oh those pictures are absolutely adorable! They are getting so big! I’m so sorry about the respiratory junk…we have been fighting a nasty virus at our house too. You are all in my prayers for a speedy and healthy recovery!
I love the pictures of the boys, they are too freaking adorable! I hope that they start to feel better soon!
HOLY cow! You have some BIG boys there! My twins aren’t even close to your boys sizes and mine were 36 weeks gestation.
Well done mommy!
PS They are just GORGEOUS!
Your boys are SO big! That’s fantasitic! They are just beautiful! Oh what fun the next year will bring you!
I have a little boy named Gauge who is 7 months old and pushing 21 pounds. He wears me out lugging him around. I can’t imagine four of them 🙂 Blessings to you and your beautiful family!
