Uncanny Milestone!
(Hey all, this is Brad)
To the average eye, the can above probably looks like your everyday, run of the mill formula can.
But, this can represents something much more exciting than that, this is Enfamil formula can number 440! It is very hard to believe that I will no longer be devoting 20-30 minutes per evening shaking bottles for the next day. If my calculations are correct, (probably off a bit)this can of formula made our 7,596th bottle since the boys came home from the hospital! I don’t think I had any idea when I carried the first stack of 40 cans in that I still had 400 to go. I will not miss you my little pink labeled friend, but I will miss my little baby boys who are growing up so fast.
I remember reading Gen McNulty’s blog many months ago when they quit making formula bottles and thinking that this day would never come. There are plenty of new chores to fill in the gaps as the boys grow older, but it is nice to have this one out of the way.
Stay tuned, we had our one year appointment yesterday. I am sure Jen will be back soon with the statistics from the office visit. Also, we should be getting the rest of our professional photography pictures back very soon and will post those as well.

being a “numbers” girl, this post was a fun one. I love how you keep track of all this – it really puts it into perspective and specifically seeing how God has provided again!

WOW this is quite a milestone. I know your wallet will be heavier without those in your life too!
Loved that you said it was Brad. I often don’t know who’s writing. Although I assume more often than not its Jenn 🙂
Happy first birthday and congrats for making it through all the joy and the challenges. So much more joy to come!
Does that mean it’s on to whole milk? If so, yeah! However, I go through a gallon of whole milk with my ONE 20 month old. I can only the number for four!
Yeah! I know I was excited to be done with formula and we only used it part of the time (breastfed our twins, too). Congrats on moving on to milk!
oh maaaaaan! SUUUUUUUUPER excited for you guys! gosh….at this point, i can’t even imagine! wow!!! yay for the murray boys~! (and mom and dad!) what a huge milestone!
I know that buying formula for just one was breaking the bank! Awesome for you guys.
I am curious to see how many gallons of milk they will go through in a week, though. Looking forward to hearing about that one!
God bless you all!

Thanks for this post! I love reading the statistics that you put up there….it keeps my life in perspective, for sure! God has certainly blessed your family, and I love reading this blog. It encourages me and brings a smile to my face!
Whoa! That is a heck of a lot of formula! You should have bought stock in Enfamil! I cannot even imagine what your formula bill was like! I have two babies and breastfed mostly, but supplemented with Similac and still it was quite expensive for just that! How do they like the regular milk now? Yay for no more mixing bottles!
Oh, yes! What a joy the last set of bottles were! And what a humongous gain of fridge space! Congrats!
