How We Celebrated Earth Day 2010

diapers

We stopped filling the landfills with disposable diapers.

For good.

This act alone just may save Mother Earth.

We called our friends with quintuplets last night and they are going to pick up our stash of unused diapers.

There’s no turning back now.

Goodbye diapers.

Forever.

(Or at least until I start wearing them again a few decades from now! HA!)

  1. Now THAT is amazing (patting you on the back, fist bumping the air, giving you a big ole' hug)!

Yay murray boys! Way to go mom and dad:) I'm sure it won't be easy all the time but that's a HUGE step! So encouraging to me……we are following after you:)

Wow, that was fast! (Although I'm sure it didn't seem so to you.) 🙂 What was your secret?

  4. Are your boys now sleeping through the night without diapers or pullups as well? My twins are 3.5 years old and I don't know how to wean them from their pullups at night time. Any suggestions on what I should do? They have been potty trained during the day for almost a year now, just not sure how it works during the night training.

  5. WOW, all four boys are potty trained? That is awesome! Congrats!

  6. You should have celebrated with a big diaper bonfire, then those diapers would never pollute again!

  7. Kate says:

Whooo-hoooo boys! Congrats to the Murray Crew!!

Jen prepare you phone for multiple texts from me next week while we do "potty boot camp". I'll need someone to vent to. 🙂

  8. Samantha says:

wow on that!! (love the crack about needing them yourselves one day!) you are seriously brave.

hey, i've got a link for my friends who had early (25 weeks) delivery of triplets… one died in utero, the other died the day after being born, and the third is two weeks old and is fighting, but struggling.

  12. Yeah!!! what a HUGE milestone!! Congrats to all 4 boys and big Kudos to you and Brad for surviving potty training!!!

  13. My2Gs says:

YEAH!!! Congratulations Boys 🙂 Gauge is now fully potty trained and I am LOVING the non-diaper bag trips to the grocery store, restaurants, etc. We do however usually keep something in the "just in case."

  14. Danielle says:

What will you do at nighttime? I have considered this method of tossing all diapers and going forward from there but I'm not sure it will work since night times have no end of diapers in sight!

  15. Amanda says:

    Yahoo! Congratulations!

  16. Devin says:

    Yaaaaaaaaaaaay!!

Congrats Jen, I'm sure that is one big relief–it's a wonderful feeling, isn't it?

  17. ok, I'm sick to my stomach! Jen – i said and meant it…that i REALLY wanted/planned to run or walk with you for the March of Dimes…as you know premies are dear to my heart. Unfortunately I didn't realize the run was tomorrow AM!!?? for some reason I thought it was in May and in the afternoon. It's 11PM Saturday night and I think it's too late to call and get hooked up tomorrow AM? Please forgive me and know that I will be running 5K in Noblesville in honor of the little lives we get to hug and kiss each day. Let me know how I can support this cause even if we don't meet up tomorrow! Please forgive me for not getting with you sooner! You should have called me to remind me – it's not like you have anything better to do! 🙂 Praying for you!
