30 Day Giving Challenge Week 3 + A Halo SleepSack Giveaway
Can you believe we are half way through our 30 Day Giving Challenge? For those of you who might have missed the beginning, it’s never to late to join us!
If you are running out of ideas at this point of ways that you can bless others here’s a few of my favorites:
- Write a card to tell someone how much you appreciate them
- Surprise a friend their favorite treat (candy, hot drink, fountain pop, etc)
- Visit a neighbor or relative
- Run an errand for a friend
- Pay for the person’s meal in the car behind you in the drive thru
- Make a goodie or a meal for someone who needs encouragement
- Donate items to a local shelter, food pantry, or donation center
- Dedicate some time to pray for those in need around the world
- Volunteer your time to help others in need in your community
- Give up your parking space to the competing car
- Give a mom a break by watching her kid(s) for a few hours
- Give monetarily to someone in the process of adopting a child
- Share extra coupons or gift cards with a family in need
- Do something to bless your spouse
- Put some loose change in the Salvation Army Red Kettles
- Use your blog to bless others
There are 6 giveaways remaining in our 30 Day Giving Challenge. Thank you for hanging with me through this effort! Our heart behind every single giveaway is to use it as an opportunity to bless others by giving and hopefully making an impact on their lives for an even greater purpose.
Today’s sponsor is HALO® SleepSack®. If you’ve been reading 4tunate for a while, you will be quite familiar with this product. Our boys used sleepsacks for over 2 years, an d we recommend this product constantly! The HALO® SleepSack® replaces loose blankets in the crib that can cover your baby’s face and interfere with breathing. It’s a warm, cuddly blanket they can’t kick off, ensuring baby sleeps soundly throughout the night. Practical and completely adorable all wrapped in one little sweet bundle! They now have a Sleepsack Swaddle* for newborns which ensures your baby still gets the benefits of being swaddled without the risks of blankets that could come lose and pose a suffocation risk. (It’s available at Target for $19.99 and makes a great baby shower gift or donation item.) I’ll be donating my provided Sleepsack Swaddle to a local Life Center.
We have HALO® SleepSack® to thank for several benefits: the boys were warm while they slept, we had the peace of mind that they were sleeping more safely than with blankets, they couldn’t get into their diapers to make messes, and they weren’t able to climb out of their cribs, because their legs were zipped inside the sack. Obviously, some of these aren’t advertised benefits of Halo SleepSacks, but we are convinced that they had a huge part in giving us a more peaceful sleeping experience with our quadruplets.
A few Safe Sleep Practices Suggested by HALO® SleepSack®:
- Place baby to sleep on his or her back at naptime and at night time.
- Use a crib that meets current safety standards with a firm mattress that fits snuggly and is covered with only a tight-fitting crib sheet.
- Remove all soft bedding and toys from your baby’s sleep area (this includes loose blankets, bumpers and positioners).
- Offer a pacifier when putting baby to sleep. If breastfeeding, introduce pacifier after one month or after breastfeeding has been established.
- Never dress your baby too warmly for sleep; keep room temperature 68-72 degrees Fahrenheit.

I love to give books for baby shower gifts…childhood favorites : )
Thanks!
I like to give a basket to new mom’s… baby cereal, baby cookies, infant tylenol, gripe water, a few outfits, size 2 diapers (cause everyone give the newborn or size one’s!), for a mom planning on nursing, I may give a bottle, one liner, a nipple, and a single serve can…. everything to feed the baby once only, in case of emergency!!
Ohhh Leslie, I know your intent is good but PLEASE don’t provide that formula meal to a mom intending to nurse. It can mess with FAR more than you ever think and that ONE bottle can lead to a slippery slope of breastfeeding disaster for many, sadly. Instead provide phone numbers for support – La Leche League leaders, lactation consultants, etc.
Signed, an exclusively breastfeeding for the first 6-8 months mama of four, including twins.
I should have been a little mroe specific… I only give this to friends who I know won’t be ‘tempted’ by the ‘ease’ of bottle feeding, but to those who, when the baby is a couple of months old, may need to go to the store & leave the little one with Dad, or something similar.
When my little one was two months, I fed him, then went out to get groceries…well, he decided that THAT was when he was going to cluster feed, and I came hom to a starving baby & frantic Dad. Those are the situations that this is for!!

awesome, my sister loves those sleep sacks for Liam 🙂 i’d love to be counted in for the give away!
easy-love to give books
My favorite baby shower gift to give is a personalize Baby CD. Each song says the babies name throughout it. I received it as a baby shower gift for my son, he is 4 years old now and still listens to it every night.
I like to give all the nursing accessories including pads, wipes and creams. I also use flannel receiving blankets in lieu of tissue paper (everyone always tells me they are going to still that idea).

I’m expecting my first baby in a few weeks, and just received two sleep sacks (one regular and one swaddler) at a baby shower yesterday! So I don’t need to be entered for the giveaway, but I wanted to say thanks for mentioning these on your blog over the years. It was only through you that I’d heard of them, and I might otherwise have just gone with blankets in the crib. Instead I knew exactly what the sleep sacks were when I opened the boxes, and I’m so excited to use them. In addition to the safety factor, it’s so great that the baby can’t kick them off (my mom says she used to safety pin my blankets to the bed when I was an infant, as the only way to keep me covered!). So… thanks!
I love to give diapers/wipes/etc…because that’s what I love to get! :0)

I always give a “blank” one-year baby calendar. It was easy to jot down baby’s milestones on a daily basis. I used this for my 22 year old during his first year of life. I kept the calendar up-to-date…not so much with his 7-year book.
I love to give the muslin blankets!

If cash is tight, bringing a meal to the shower for the freezer is a great idea. It can even be used before baby arrives.
I like to give the car seat cover and a little outfit in a larger size. If they are close to me, I give them a copy of Goodnight Moon with a picture of my little angel in it.
I’ve been following your blog for awhile.

So my best friend is pregnant and this would be perfect for her! The best baby shower gift I would like to give is probably one of those amazing diaper trees – I’m always so jealous of the women who can make those!
I like to give a wooden block made by Craft e Family that has the first letter of the baby’s name and then the full name and all the birth statistics on the other sides.
I love to give a copy of the book “You Are My Wish Come True” The sweetest book…makes me cry every time. I combine this with a swaddle blanket and bath time products
