Clark the Caregiver

The boys continue to handle this recovery from my abdominoplasty so much better than I could have imagined. They’ve all been patient, gentle, and helpful over the last few weeks, but Clark has been my #1 Caregiver (minus Brad of course!). He’s been so concerned about me, and so genuinely caring.  He comes up to check on me through the day when I’ve been in bed, he runs and gets things for me, but most of all he’s just spent time with me.

While I was in bed with the summer fever, Clark came upstairs to take care of me and keep me company.  This boy is the chattiest of them all!

The other day he brought me his bear he recently got at Urgent Care and told me, “Here, Mama, This helped me when I was sick. It will make you feel better too!”.

Yesterday, he hung out next to me in the recliner and I taught him how to “photobomb” himself with my phone.  You know all that important pre-kindergarten skills stuff.

I’ve treasured our little one on one time and how he’s looked after his Mama.  I know that God has created him with a tender and compassionate heart, and I’m so thankful for the individual qualities He has placed in each of my four.

I’m a relatively new follower, but I just have to tell you how sweet this post is! I love that your son brought you his bear from urgent care. I have identical twin boys and a daughter, and one of my boys is such a little caretaker when I’m sick too.

I know what you mean. I have been have some painful back issues, and both girls are doing such a great job of taking on more chores and being sweet. Makes your mamma’s heart feel proud doesn’t it?
