We Missed Four Years of Crying Santa Pictures for This…
Believe it or not our soon to be five year olds {insert panic} have never sat on Santa’s lap until this year. Between RSV lock downs when they were little and not putting a huge emphasis on Santa in our home, it’s just never happened until we had the opportunity last month at the Christmas Gift and Hobby Show. Such deprived children.
But just think of the time we’ve saved waiting in line, the bribes for smiles, the stress of getting four kids to sit still for one picture, the labor of getting them dressed, bundling up in the cold, looking for a parking space, and the tears x4 …
I’m pretty sure we came up ahead.
They look great this time though!
I have a friend who found a pet Santa event that was going on outside and totally took her daughter to that to cut down the RSV risk. With an older brother in preschool, we didn’t even pull our former 29-weeker out of day care, much less worry about the Santa risk. Going well this far, but it definitely leaves me nervous.
Great Photo! You have such handsome little men!
Jack is 4 and has never seen Santa, either! One of these years we’ll get around to it, but we emphasize the historical St. Nicholas instead. So I don’t feel bad. 🙂
oh, girl. we are kindreds on things like this. don’t do things that don’t work for your family just because of cultural expectations ESPECIALLY at Christmastime.
What a smart idea! I think it would be better if more did this delay. We don’t make a big deal about Santa either but it can be a fun thing for kids at the right age.
I always knew you were a smart mama. And here is proof! 🙂
they all look so adorable and happy.
well worth the wait 🙂
Such a cute photo. I adore our Santa pictures, crying or not, but as far as the wait goes it’s kind of how I feel about Disney. 🙂
Such handsome lil men! Glad they all enjoyed their visit with the big guy!
